Handthrown Ceramic Cup Set (2) – Speckled Clay

Hand-thrown in Nur Minawi's studio in Jaffa, these cups are made from speckled white stoneware clay and finished with a clean white glaze. Nur is a third-generation Palestinian ceramicist who has worked from his own studio in Jaffa since Hilweh Market began stocking his work.

The shape is simple and considered — softly rounded walls, a slightly curved base that sits comfortably in the hand. Because each cup is thrown and finished individually, no two are exactly alike. Subtle differences in form and glaze are part of the work. These are the cups we use at the café.
