Ceramic black espresso cups by Nur (Set of 2)
For years, the finest ceramic work in Jaffa was anonymous. Despite being a third-generation artisan, Nur Minawi and his family practiced their craft within the workshops of others, their mastery hidden behind larger labels. When Hilweh Market first sought authentic, handmade Palestinian ceramics in Jaffa, Nur’s work was the "missing link." That discovery sparked a partnership that allowed Nur to finally open his own independent studio.
Today, Nur’s stoneware is no longer a local secret; his minimalist, durable designs are sought after by premier restaurants and cafes from Jaffa to the international stage.
The Artistry
A study in raw elegance, this set of two coffee cups is thrown from a custom deep black clay and finished with a matching black glaze. The defining feature is the intentional thumb imprint—a sculptural detail that creates a natural, ergonomic grip. This "imprint" serves as a permanent signature of the artisan’s hand, ensuring that each cup is not just a vessel, but an extension of the morning ritual itself.
