Ceramic Beige espresso cups by Nur (Set of 2)
For years, the finest ceramic work in Jaffa was anonymous. Despite being a third-generation artisan, Nur Minawi and his family practiced their craft within the workshops of others, their mastery hidden behind larger labels. When Hilweh Market first sought authentic, handmade Palestinian ceramics in Jaffa, Nur’s work was the "missing link." That discovery sparked a partnership that allowed Nur to finally open his own independent studio.
The Artistry
A study in architectural minimalism, this set of two coffee cups is thrown from a refined white clay featuring a delicate black speckle. The defining aesthetic is the partial glaze, which covers two-thirds of the vessel. This deliberate exposure allows the user to experience the raw, matte texture of the speckled clay at the base, contrasting beautifully with the smooth, polished finish above. The bell-shaped silhouette is engineered for seamless stacking, making these pieces a masterclass in functional geometry.
